Team India are on the verge of winning the first Test against West Indies after declaring their innings at the overnight score of 448/5 on Day 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Indian bowlers wreaked havoc in the morning session, reducing the visitors to 66/5 and putting them on the brink of an innings defeat.

The highlight of the session came in the third ball of the 18th over, when Kuldeep Yadav produced a peach of a delivery to dismiss Roston Chase. It was a moment of sheer brilliance from the left-arm wrist spinner.

Kuldeep bowled a delivery that seemed to be a regular leg-break on release, but it turned out to be a natural variation that drifted slightly and held its line after pitching. Chase, expecting significant turn, played down the wrong line — aiming around middle and leg — only for the ball to sneak past his bat and rattle the off stump.

Chase stood in disbelief as the off stump lay uprooted, while the Indian fielders surrounded Kuldeep in celebration. The delivery perfectly showcased Kuldeep’s subtle mastery — a mix of flight, drift, and deception that continues to trouble even experienced batters.

Kuldeep, you beauty! 😍

At lunch, West Indies were tottering at 66/5, still trailing by 220 runs and staring at a likely innings defeat. The pitch, though not overtly dangerous, has begun to assist the spinners with variable bounce and sharp drift. India’s decision to declare at their overnight score proved strategic, giving their bowlers enough time to exploit the conditions.

Ravindra Jadeja was the chief destroyer, picking up three wickets, while Kuldeep and Mohammed Siraj shared one apiece. Jadeja’s control from one end allowed Kuldeep to attack from the other, and the pair complemented each other superbly. With a commanding first-innings total and a fired-up bowling attack, India now look poised to seal an emphatic victory and take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
