India‘s spin sensation Kuldeep Yadav produced a mesmerizing delivery to dismiss Shai Hope on Day 3 of the ongoing second Test against West Indies in Delhi. The left-arm wrist-spinner’s wicket of Hope turned the tide firmly in India’s favor as the visitors continued to struggle against quality spin on a wearing surface.

It was the third ball of the 50th over when Kuldeep delivered one of the finest balls of the match. The delivery drifted away beautifully in the air, leaving Hope completely deceived. The spinner was ecstatic as he jumped and punched the air in delight after the dismissal. The ball, bowled at 83.8kph, was perfectly flighted—it drifted away and went on with the angle instead of turning in. Hope lunged forward to defend, expecting the ball to spin, but it whistled past his outside edge and rattled the off-stump.

Hope, who looked set and composed at the crease, had been batting confidently until the stunning delivery ended his resistance. His expression said it all—completely outfoxed by a delivery that showcased Kuldeep’s class and control.

After removing Hope, Kuldeep’s confidence soared as he continued to make the West Indies batters dance to his tunes. He struck again soon after, trapping Tevin Imlach and then Justin Greaves, as the visitors’ middle order began to crumble under pressure.

Kuldeep’s variations, flight, and control made it extremely difficult for the batters to pick him. His pace through the air and subtle drift forced several mistakes as he ended the first session with four wickets to his name.

By lunch, West Indies were reeling at 217/8, still trailing India by 301 runs. The left-arm spinner’s relentless attack left the Caribbean side struggling to find answers, as even their set batters failed to counter his accuracy and guile.

Kuldeep’s spell ensured that India maintained complete control of the contest. The Indian bowlers continued to dominate, and the team’s strategy to use spin early in the day paid rich dividends. With Kuldeep leading the charge, India’s hopes of enforcing a follow-on grew stronger as the day progressed.

His performance once again underlined his importance in India’s Test setup, especially on subcontinental pitches where his wrist spin and control make him a lethal weapon. The way he mixed drift, dip, and sharp turn left fans and experts in awe.
