After declaring their imposing first innings, India systematically dismantled the West Indies batting lineup. The visitors were bowled out for 162 in their first innings, trailing by 286 runs. On Day 3, West Indies started their second innings precariously, losing early wickets to the Indian bowling attack. The combination of pacers like Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah along with the spin duo of Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav proved lethal. Jadeja took three quick wickets, including that of Hope, and was instrumental in crippling the West Indies middle order.
