The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India Under-19 ‘A’ and ‘B’ squads for the upcoming tri-series that will also feature Afghanistan. The tournament will take place from November 17 to 30 at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
The tri-series will see India A, India B, and Afghanistan U19 compete in a double round-robin format, with the top two teams meeting in the final on November 30. Each team will play two games against the others. Meanwhile, star players Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi have not been picked.
According to the BCCI, Mhatre was not considered for selection as he is currently featuring in the Ranji Trophy for Maharashtra, while Suryavanshi has been named in the India A squad for the upcoming ACC Rising Stars Asia Cup. Both players, therefore, were unavailable for the Bengaluru series.
