IPL 2025: GT vs LSG Stats & Records at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

Match No. 64 of IPL 2025 will be played between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday, May 22. GT have already made it to the top four while LSG have been eliminated with the game being a dead rubber for the visiting side. This match only provides GT with a chance to solidify their top position to ensure a top-two finish at the Points Table.
Three teams have already qualified for the playoffs, but a fourth could have a Q against their name on the points table even before this match starts, as Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals will have the former qualifying if they win. The two teams are also coming off of contrasting results in their respective previous games.
The hosts seemed to have Delhi Capitals on the ropes in their previous game in Delhi, but KL Rahul's century alongside other timely cameos helped DC shrug off the slow start. GT, though, had barely any trouble chasing their target down. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan played exemplary risk-free cricket and chased the total down by themselves. Gill made an unbeaten 93 while his partner made an unbeaten century to counter Rahul's and confirm GT's place in the top four.
LSG, meanwhile, had a rough time against SRH in Lucknow. As has been the story of the season, Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran contributed handsomely, but the rest of the batting fizzled out. Especially with Eshan Malinga's show at the death.
Abhishek Sharma eventually put all questions about SRH's chase to rest. Sharma started out strong, but the kicker came in the seventh over when he hit Ravi Bishnoi for four sixes in a row. Ishan Kishan, Heinrich Klaasen and Kamindu Mendis took care of the rest.
This ground favours chasing, so that could also be the choice of the captain winning the toss.
Pant has been having one of the worst IPL season ever imaginable by a frontline batter, let alone captain. While there isn't much time left to turn it around, his record against the leggie might help. So far in the IPL, Pant has made 112 runs in 93 balls at a strike rate of 120.43 while being dismissed twice at an average of 56.
Shubman Gill on the contrary, has been having a blast in IPL 2025. But all the euphoria could vanish away as Gill shapes up to Thakur - a bowler who has troubled him in the past. So far in the IPL, Gill has scored 51 runs in 45 balls at a strike rate of just 113.33 while being dismissed twice at an average of 25.50.
