Delhi Capitals continue their IPL 2025 campaign by taking on Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi in the 60th game of the tournament on Sunday, May 18.

While GT sit comfortably on 16 points from 11 matches and are one win away from sealing a playoff berth, DC are in a tougher spot with 13 points, and their qualification path is not so straightforward. DC have endured underwhelming results in their past few games as they have had just one win at home and have suffered injuries, poor form, and foreign player withdrawals.

Mitchell Starc is unavailable for the business end, although Faf du Plessis and Tristan Stubbs returned, but it might not be just enough for the side. The Axar Patel-led side will need two wins from their remaining three games to reach 17 points and stay in contention.

GT have been brilliant this season with a powerful top order consisting of Shubman Gill, B Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler, all with over 500 runs. Their bowling has clicked too, with Prasidh Krishna leading the wicket-taking charts. Despite potential player exits for national duty ahead of the playoffs, like Buttler and Kagiso Rabada, the Titans are one of the top contenders tofinish in the top two.

The Delhi wicket has traditionally favoured batters, and the story has been similar this season too. However, in the last few games, the surface has remained slow throughout, and the batters had to play smartly to score runs. Notably, the track is expected to pan out similarly. GT skipper Shubman Gill's performance has been a key reason for the side getting solid starts this season. In 11 innings, the right-handed batter has scored 508 runs at an average of 50.80 and a strike rate of 152.55, including five fifties. Notably, he is positioned third in the Orange Cap race and is hopeful to continue his brilliant form.

DC skipper Axar Patel is expected to produce an impactful spell in the upcoming clash against GT. While the left-arm spinner has not picked wickets consistently, he has been economical, especially in the powerplay and the middle-order. In 11 games, Patel has taken five wickets and has supported his spin partner, Kuldeep Yadav, well. Patel will have the responsibility to once again shine with the ball and pick important wickets.s
