Gujarat Titans (GT) registered a dominant 10-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 60 of IPL 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. With this win, GT confirmed their place in the playoffs but also climbed to the top of the points table with 18 points.
GT skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to field first by pointing to Delhi's chase-friendly conditions. DC was put into the bat and was steered by a sensational century from opener KL Rahul. The Bengaluru-born batter hammered 112 off 65 deliveries, including 14 fours and 4 sixes. He was well-supported by Abishek Porel (30 off 19), Axar Patel (25 off 16), and Tristan Stubbs (21 off 10), which helped DC post a strong total of 199/3. For GT, Arshad Khan, Prasidh Krishna, and Sai Kishore picked up a wicket each.
In response, GT openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill put on a batting masterclass by completely dismantling the DC bowling attack. Sudharsan led the charge with a slick century, scoring an unbeaten 108* off 61 balls, including 12 fours and 4 sixes. Gill played the perfect partnership with the youngster by scoring a brilliant 93* off 53 balls, including 3 fours and 7 sixes. The duo chased down the 200-run target comfortably in 19 overs without losing a wicket.
With this comprehensive win, GT became the first team to qualify for the playoffs, and their victory also helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) secure their playoff berths. Meanwhile, DC are currently in fifth place on the table with 13 points and now are in a must-win situation in their remaining two matches against Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) to stay in the playoff race.
