Chennai Super Kings (CSK) wrapped up their IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League) campaign with an 83-run victory over Gujarat Titans in Match 67 of the ongoing edition of the IPL at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This was CSK's fourth win of the season.
Opting to bat first, CSK rampaged to 68/1 at the end of the powerplay. Ayush Mhatre’s fiery 34 off 17 balls was one of the chief contributors in the phase. His knock included 28 runs off Arshad Khan’s first over. Devon Conway (52 off 35) stroked his way to his second fifty of the season. Dewald Brevis registered his highest score in IPL history by amassing a blistering 57 off 23 balls. The Men in Yellow posted a formidable 230/5 on the board. Prasidh Krishna (2/22) was the lone bright spot in an otherwise lacklustre performance by the home side’s bowling department.
Coming to the run chase, GT lost Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler, and Sherfane Rutherford inside the powerplay. This was the first time GT had lost three wickets during the powerplay. At the halfway stage, GT were struggling at 85/3. Ravindra Jadeja’s double strike in a single over further helped derail GT. They were bowled out for 147 in 18.3 overs. Noor Ahmad (3/21) capped off a stellar season with 24 wickets to his name, while Anshul Kamboj (3/13) was impressive in his 2.3 overs.
