IPL 2025: Mohammed Siraj expresses frustration after Sai Kishore's fumble leads to overthrows

Mohammed Siraj was visibly displeased with Sai Kishore after the latter made a mess of his slide to concede overthrow runs during Match 67 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium. CSK had opted to bat first upon winning the toss in what is both these sides' final league game.
The mishap by Sai Kishore was on the fifth delivery of the fifth over of CSK's innings. A length delivery was driven to mid-off by Urvil Patel. GT's skipper, Shubman Gill, decided to attempt a direct-hit. However, the ball deflected off the stumps which enabled Urvil to complete the second run. However, Kishore's failed slide meant the batters in the middle completed the third run. Siraj was left fuming after this particular flow of events.
This was Siraj's third over on the trot. He had conceded 27 runs without taking a wicket. Speaking of how the first innings progressed, CSK ended up posting 230/5 at the end of their 20-over quota. 20 runs were taken off Siraj's fourth over, the 19th of the innings. The right-arm pacer ended up with figures of 0/47 in four overs.
Coming to the visitors, every batter contributed valuably. Dewald Brevis top-scored with 57 off 23. Devon Conway (52 off 35) was the other batter who registered a half-century. Prasidh Krishna was the standout bowler for GT. He ended up conceding only 22 runs in his four-over spell alongside snagging a couple of wickets.
Mhatre smashed 28-run inside powerplay off Arshad over
CSK's innings comprised a total of 15 sixes; the most by the franchise in an innings in the current season. They have an opportunity of ending up above Rajasthan Royals if they are successful in restricting the hosts to a score of 121 or below.
