The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant lit up the Ekana Stadium with a brilliant century against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Match 70 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The left-handed batter celebrated the milestone with a somersault, which delighted the home crowd and his teammates.
Pant brought up his century in a unique fashion by launching a fuller-length delivery over the cover boundary for a boundary. It was his second IPL century after the unbeaten 128 off 63 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Delhi during IPL 2018. His 54-ball century is also the fastest hundred by an LSG batter.

Before this match, Pant had a poor season and managed just 151 runs before the start of the RCB clash. However, he turned things around with a fiery, unbeaten knock laced with 11 fours and eight sixes.
Earlier in the evening, RCB skipper Jitesh Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first. LSG opener Matthew Breetzke was dismissed early for 14 by Nuwan Thushara, but Pant, along with Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, built an imposing 152-run partnership for the second wicket. Marsh contributed 67 off 37 deliveries which helped LSG post a formidable total of 227/3 in 20 overs.
RCB need to chase 228 to secure a top-two finish in the IPL 2025 playoffs. They currently sit third on the points table with 17 points. LSG, on the other hand, have been eliminated from playoff contention but will look to end their campaign on a high in front of their home fans. They are placed seventh with 14 points.
