IPL 2025: Suryakumar Yadav arrives with umbrella at post-match ceremony, dedicates POTM award to wife

Suryakumar Yadav dedicated his Player of the Match award to wife and professional dance coach, Devisha Shetty, during the post-match presentation ceremony of Match 63 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium. This was Surya's first POTM accolade of IPL 2025.

While standing under an umbrella with Harsha Bhogle due to the rain coming down moments after the ceremony had gotten underway, He also attributed his unbeaten 57-run stand with Naman Dhir towards the business end of MI's innings to inject much-needed momentum into MI's dressing room.

"It's been 13 games now. My wife told me a sweet story today. She said, 'you've got all the awards except POTM'. This award is special today. From the team's point of view, the knock was important, and also this trophy is for her. She waits for such moments and we celebrate it obviously, looking forward to it. Was important for a single batter to bat till the end. We knew there was one over of 15–20 runs somewhere, so we had to wait till the end. The way Naman came in and shared that energy with me was also a turning point," shared Suryakumar during the post-match presentation ceremony.

The 59-run victory guaranteed MI sure shot playoff qualification. This was the 11th time MI had made it into the top four of the competition. As far as the ball is concerned, Mitchell Santner (3/11 in four overs) and Jasprit Bumrah (3/12 in 3.2 overs) starred for the hosts.
