IPL 2025: Will Jacks dispatches Mustafizur Rahman's slower ball into stands

Will Jacks launched a slot ball on the pads deep into the stands during Match 63 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday, May 21. The fifth delivery of Mustafizur Rahman's second over was dumped over deep square leg with utter disdain.
A ball after Jacks got away with a boundary of a swish across the line to a superbly-disguised off-cutter, he picked up a slower ball expertly well to dismiss it afte getting low in his stance to bring up his first six of the evening. The next delivery was flicked towards long-on for a single. The 12-run over meant MI were 46/1 after five overs after being invited to bat first.
Earlier in the evening, DC won the toss and opted to field first. This particular fixture is of immense significance to the franchise for them to keep their playoff hopes alive. If DC end up losing this match, they will not make it into the top four, regardless of what happens when they and Mumbai Indians face Punjab Kings to conclude their respective league phases.

Meanwhile, for the Delhi Capitals, Faf du Plessis is the designated captain for the game tonight. This comes after Axar Patel couldn't make the XI due to a fever which has persisted with the left-handed all-rounder since the past couple of days. Madhav Tiwari was handed his debut. KL Rahul was named as one of the players on the Impact Substitutes list. MI, on the other hand, brought back Mitchell Santner in place of Corbin Bosch.
