IPL 2026 Auction: State-wise distribution of players sold

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 mini-auction concluded a few days ago, with all franchises looking to fine-tune and strengthen their squads ahead of the upcoming season. While several teams emerged from the auction with well-balanced line-ups and renewed title ambitions, others will once again be hoping to lift their maiden IPL trophy in the cash-rich league.
As is often the case at the IPL auction, Indian players attracted significant attention, with a few commanding hefty price tags. Kartik Sharma and Prashant Veer were among the biggest earners, both being snapped up for INR 14.2 crore. Beyond individual bidding wars, the auction also highlighted the strong representation from certain domestic cricketing states.
In terms of state-wise distribution, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh stood out, with five players from each of these states being sold at the auction.
