The Chennai Super Kings take on the Gujarat Titans in Match 37 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The Super Kings come off a massive 103-run win over arch-rivals Mumbai Indians on Thursday, April 23. Sanju Samson notched up his second century of the season. The opener’s unbeaten 101 was the backbone of the Super Kings’ ascent to 207 after being put in to bat before Akeal Hosein wreaked havoc in the powerplay with two wickets and picked up a further two more to dent the MI innings as they were bundled out for 104.
Gujarat Titans come into this clash on the back of two losses. They were beaten by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday, April 24, despite Sai Sudharsan’s brilliant century. The Royal Challengers chased down 206 to hand the Titans their fourth loss of the season. Titans’ issues with the middle order have been prominent this season, despite the top order getting runs and the bowlers looking threatening.
The Super Kings return to their den after two games on the road. Both teams stand at three wins and four losses in seven games, precariously positioned at the halfway stage of the season. Both teams cannot afford any more slip-ups. The Super Kings seem to be on an upward rise, finding balance within their team, while the Titans have some holes to fix in their squad, but do possess the firepower to make a run to the playoffs.
