The Delhi Capitals (DC) square off against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match No. 51 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday, May 8.
Axar patel-led Capitals are placed at No. 7 on the points table, having won four and lost six matches. They are coming into this clash on the back of a comprehensive eight-wicket defeat to the Chennai Super Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Knight Riders are on a bit of a roll, having won three consecutive matches. However, they are still languishing at No. 8 on the points table, having lost five matches earlier in the tournament. In their most recent encounter, they got the better of the Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Karun Nair: Delhi Capitals' Karun Nair has played two matches so far and scored just 18 runs. He played the last game but couldn't make an impact.
Auqib Nabi: Auqib Nabi played three matches this season but failed to pick up a wicket. He conceded runs at an economy rate of 13.43. It will be interesting to see if he can break into the playing XII once again.
Abishek Porel: Abishek Porel played just one game, which was the one in which the Delhi Capitals were bowled out for 75 against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The southpaw was the top-scorer in that encounter. Some experts have raised questions as to why the talented cricketer has been kept on the bench by the DC management.
Vipraj Nigam: Vipraj Nigam has not been as effective this season. He has lost his place in the side after some indifferent performances. In four matches, he picked up just two wickets. He probably would have come in as the Impact Player in the last game, but a flurry of wickets in the first innings meant that specialist batter Sameer Rizvi had to step in as a substitute for Karun Nair.
David Miller: David Miller has not played the last two matches for the Capitals. The team management has opted to play two overseas pacers, and Miller has had to make way for one of them.
Tejasvi Dahiya: The wicketkeeper-batter impressed in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scoring 113 runs in six matches at an average of 56.50 and a strike rate of 168.65. Many fans were expecting him to replace the out-of-form Ramandeep Singh in the side. However, that wasn't the case.
Ramandeep Singh: Ramandeep Singh scored 82 runs in six matches at an average of 16.40 and a strike rate of 120.59. After showing a lot of patience and giving ample opportunities, KKR decided to leave him out of the side and bring in veteran batter Manish Pandey.
Tim Seifert: The Kiwi wicketkeeper played three matches but only scored 19 runs. He was dropped from the side in the last game.
Finn Allen: The explosive opener made his comeback in the side in the last game, replacing compatriot Seifert. Allen looked in stunning form before being dismissed for just 29 off 13 balls.
Navdeep Saini: Navdeep Saini played two matches in IPL 2026 but couldn't make an impact in the three overs he bowled.
