The Delhi Capitals (DC) host the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Match 39 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The Capitals find themselves in a precarious position after seven games, with just three wins and four losses. They were beaten by the Punjab Kings on Saturday, April 25, failing to defend a mammoth 264. They will be looking to get back to winning ways to get their season back on track. KL Rahul scored a magnificent unbeaten 152 off just 67 balls against the Kings, and the Capitals will hope for more big runs from their talismanic batter. They have been bolstered by the return of Mitchell Starc, who recovered from a shoulder injury, but is not expected to feature until May 1.
The defending champions, RCB, are coming off their fifth victory of the season, capping off their Bengaluru leg of 2026 with a five-wicket victory over the Gujarat Titans. This is the first of three consecutive home games that they play. They have looked like one of the most balanced sides in the tournament, and have clicked with both bat and ball. They will be looking to add more points to their bag and continue their strong season.
The two teams met at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 18 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB, being put into bat, were able to manage a total of 175/8, courtesy of good bowling from the Capitals’ spinners. They started the second innings in fine fashion with Bhuvaneshwar Kumar taking three wickets in the powerplay. KL Rahul scored a brilliant 57 to set the platform for the chase, and Tristan Stubbs took the game deep with an unbeaten 60 to hand the defending champions their only loss in Bengaluru this season.
