IPL 2026: Donovan Ferreira moves back to RR from DC, Nitish Rana goes to DC from RR

Nitish Rana will now represent Delhi Capitals after a trade from Rajasthan Royals ahead of the deadline for the same on November 15. Nitish, who was bought for INR 4.2 crore at the mega auction ahead of IPL 2025, scored only 217 runs in 11 matches for the franchise. Donovan Ferreira's fee has been revised from INR 75 lakh to INR 1 crore in a straight swap.
Nitish, on the other hand, will continue to receive his existing fee of INR 4.2 crore. The bulk of the southpaw's IPL career has been with Kolkata Knight Riders. Nitish represented the Kolkata-based franchise from 2018 to 2024. He also led the franchise in 2023 when Shreyas Iyer was sidelined due to injury.
Nitish, a Delhi-born cricketer, will finally have an opportunity of playing in front of his home crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. He even shifted states to represent Uttar Pradesh for a couple of domestic seasons before receiving a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association in June earlier this year.
Sanju Samson joins CSK, Ravindra Jadeja returns to RR
Speaking of Nitish's IPL trajectory, he was picked up by Mumbai Indians ahead of the 2015 season. However, he did not get a game all throughout IPL 2015. He was retained for the next edition after impressing the management by being the most prolific six-hitter for Delhi in the 2015-16 installment of the Syed Mushtaq Trophy. The aggressive batter hit as many as 21 sixes while striking at 175.88 throughout the tournament.
As for Ferreira, the South African all-rounder has only three matches across IPL 2024 and IPL 2025. He was made a part of RR's system but only played two matches. Ferreira was then bought by DC at the mega auction for INR 75 lakh which was also his base price. However, he played only one match for DC in 2025, as they already had fixed their foreign quota in the XI, of which all were performing according to expectations.
