The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) square off against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Eliminator of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur on Wednesday, May 27.
The IPL 2016 champions SRH finished third in the points table with nine wins and five defeats from 14 matches. While both the GT and RCB also had an identical win-loss record, their net run rate was higher than SRH's +0.524. Therefore, they will now play the Eliminator.
RR, on the other hand, qualified for the playoffs after their win over Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. They won eight of their 14 league-stage matches to book their place in the playoffs. The two teams have faced each other twice this season, with SRH claiming victories in both matches.
The venue has hosted four matches in IPL 2026 and all of them were fairly high scoring encounters. Out of the eight innings, six times the batting sides crossed the 200-plus run mark, indicating the batting-friendly nature of the deck. The teams would want to chase due to the same reason.
