Mumbai Indians returned to winning ways and produced a dominant all-round performance to register a thumping 99-run victory over Gujarat Titans in Match No. 30 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 in front of a packed crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday, April 20.
Batting first, MI posted an imposing total of 199/5 in their 20 overs, largely powered by a sensational century from Tilak Varma. The left-hander played a breathtaking knock, remaining unbeaten on 101 off just 45 balls, smashing eight fours and seven sixes at a strike rate of 224.44.
After early setbacks, Naman Dhir contributed a crucial 45 off 32 balls to steady the innings before Tilak took complete control in the latter stages. Skipper Hardik Pandya added a handy 15, as MI finished strongly. For GT, Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna chipped in with one wicket each.
In reply, the hosts endured a disastrous start and were eventually bundled out for just 100 in 15.5 overs. Sai Sudharsan was dismissed for a duck on the very first ball, setting the tone for a collapse. Captain Shubman Gill managed 14, while Washington Sundar top-scored with 26 off 17 balls. However, wickets kept falling at regular intervals, preventing any meaningful recovery.

Jasprit Bumrah chipped in with an early breakthrough to dent GT’s chase.
