Gujarat Titans (GT) continued their impressive run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 with a dominant 82-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 56 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, May 12.
After being asked to bat first, GT posted a competitive total of 168/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Sai Sudharsan top-scored with a classy 61 off 44 deliveries, while Washington Sundar provided the late flourish with an unbeaten 50 off 33 balls. Nishant Sindhu also chipped in with a quickfire 22, helping the hosts recover after a shaky start. For SRH, Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain picked up two wickets each, while Pat Cummins chipped in with one scalp.
In response, SRH suffered a dramatic batting collapse and were bundled out for just 86 in 14.5 overs. Pat Cummins was the lone bright spot with a fighting 19 off nine deliveries, while Heinrich Klaasen contributed 14. However, the visitors failed to recover after losing early wickets, with none of the top-order batters managing to settle at the crease.
GT’s bowling attack was clinical throughout the innings, led by Kagiso Rabada and Jason Holder, who claimed three wickets each. Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna also made valuable contributions with two wickets apiece, while Rashid Khan chipped in with one scalp.
Meanwhile, the emphatic win further strengthens GT’s position in the points table as they continue their strong push towards the playoffs.
