Gujarat Titans will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in a crucial clash in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Tuesday, May 12, at Narendra Modi Stadium. With both teams level on points, the winner of this encounter will move to the top of the standings and strengthen their chances of securing a top-two finish.
SRH are currently placed second on the points table, having registered seven wins and four defeats from 11 matches. Meanwhile, the Titans also possess an identical win-loss record but are placed third due to an inferior net run rate. The Hyderabad-based franchise, led by Pat Cummins, has a net run rate of 0.737 compared to GT’s 0.228 under the leadership of Shubman Gill. This will also be the first meeting between the two sides in IPL 2026.
One of the biggest battles in the game will be between Shubman Gill and Pat Cummins. Gill has been in sublime form this season, scoring 462 runs in 10 innings at an impressive average of 46.20, including four half-centuries. His consistency at the top has played a massive role in GT’s successful campaign so far. On the other hand, Cummins has featured in only four matches this season and picked up four wickets, but his leadership and ability to strike in crucial moments remain vital for SRH.
