The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be up against the challenge of the Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 70 of the Indian Premier League 2026. The game is set to be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday, May 24.
The Knight Riders have had a strong turnaround to their season and recently found brilliant form. Right now, they have 13 points from 13 matches. They must win their final league match to keep the faint playoff qualification hopes, depending heavily on a massive net run rate boost. If they lose this match, they will be officially out of the tournament.
The Capitals travel to Kolkata after an inconsistent and difficult season. They have won six out of 13 matches and have 12 points. Because of their poor net run rate, they are effectively out of the playoff race. However, Delhi has many star players like KL Rahul and Mitchell Starc. They want to win for their pride and stop Kolkata from qualifying for the next round.
The two teams first met this season on May 8 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, when Kolkata won by eight wickets. Delhi batted first and scored a below-par total of 142 before Kolkata chased it down in just 14.2 overs thanks to Finn Allen's unbeaten 100 runs off 47 balls.
