Delhi Capitals (DC) finished the campaign with a win against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens on Sunday, May 24.

Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and opted to field first on Sunday. KKR's hopes of progressing to the playoffs ended when the Rajasthan Royals defeated the Mumbai Indians in the afternoon fixture. However, the Knights had a chance to put on a show for their passionate fans.

Delhi Capitals got off to a decent start before Saurabh Dubey dismissed Abishek Porel in the fifth over. Sahil Parakh played some impressive shots during his 47-run partnership with KL Rahul. However, he couldn't make the most of his start.

KL Rahul played a brilliant knock of 60 off 30 balls, hitting five fours and four sixes. DC skipper Axar Patel was also impressive, as he scored 39 off 25 deliveries. David Miller (28) and Ashutosh Sharma (18*) hit a flurry of boundaries at the back end of the innings to help the Capitals finish on 203/5.

In reply, the opening duo of Finn Allen and Rahane added 43 runs inside five overs before the former was dismissed for 20 (13). Rahane and Manish Pandey looked good during their 44-run stand off 25 balls before Mitchell Starc's brilliant catch ended the latter's knock. Cameron Green also failed to make a mark, as he was dismissed for two runs.

The required run rate was still manageable during Rahane and Rovman Powell's 32-run partnership off 22 balls. However, from this point, KKR's middle and lower order collapsed inexplicably. From 128/3, they were bowled out for 163 in 18.4 overs.

Kuldeep Yadav bowled remarkably during the middle overs, as he picked up three wickets. Lungi Ngidi also bagged a three-for, while Starc chipped in with two wickets.
