The Gujarat Titans beat the Lucknow Super Giants by seven wickets in Match 19 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
Having won the toss and electing to bowl, the Titans were splendid with the ball and in the field, as they restricted the Super Giants to 164/8 in their 20 overs. Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 4/28, carrying on his purple-cap-winning form from 2025.
Prasidh was supported brilliantly by the rest of the bowlers as the Titans struck at regular intervals to dent LSG’s momentum. Ashok Sharma picked up two wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada got one apiece. Rashid Khan went wicketless but bowled with great control, keeping the batters under check. Aiden Markram top-scored with 30, as no other Lucknow batter crossed 20. Most of them got starts but were not able to cash in.
The Titans’ innings was anchored by Shubman Gill, who scored a composed 56 off 40 balls. He attacked the LSG bowlers in the powerplay, notably taking Mohammed Shami for 20 runs in the fifth over. He was joined by Jos Buttler, who looked to be back at his blistering best. He scored 60 off 37 balls in a controlled knock, as he found gaps and manipulated the field in trademark fashion.
Gill and Buttler fell with the Super Giants having looked to have pulled things back, but Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatia held their nerve to finish the chase with eight balls to spare.
