Lucknow Super Giants will face Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 38 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on April 26.
LSG currently sit ninth on the points table, having managed just two wins from seven matches. They are on a four-game losing streak and will be eager to bounce back and register their third victory of the season.
KKR, meanwhile, are at the bottom of the standings with only one win in seven outings. After suffering five consecutive defeats, they finally broke the streak with a much-needed win. The three-time champions will now look to build momentum and secure their second victory of the tournament.
Himmat Singh: The Delhi batter featured as an Impact Player in two matches but had limited opportunity. He will be eager to make a stronger impression in the upcoming games.
Abdul Samad: The Jammu and Kashmir all-rounder started the season with the Super Giants but was sidelined due to a lean patch. Known as one of the most dangerous domestic finishers, he remains a strong candidate for a comeback in the playing XI.
George Linde: Signed as a replacement for Wanindu Hasaranga, the South African all-rounder has featured in two matches so far but is yet to leave a mark.
Mayank Yadav: The express pacer has played just one game in IPL 2026. His progress has been hampered by injuries, having featured in only two matches during the 2025 season as well.
Digvesh Singh Rathi: The mystery spinner has been expensive at times this season but has managed to pick up crucial wickets, showing his ability to break partnerships.
Tejasvi Dahiya: The wicketkeeper-batter impressed in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scoring 113 runs in six matches at an average of 56.50 and a strike rate of 168.65. He could be a valuable backup option for KKR.
Manish Pandey: A seasoned IPL campaigner, Pandey brings stability to the middle order. His ability to anchor the innings becomes crucial, especially if early wickets fall.
Navdeep Saini: The pacer has featured in just one game this season, against Lucknow Super Giants, where he went wicketless. He will be looking for more opportunities to prove his worth.
Finn Allen: The explosive opener has played five matches in IPL 2026 but has struggled to find form. However, his aggressive approach makes him a strong Impact Player option, capable of providing quick runs in the powerplay.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi: The young batter has registered two 50+ scores this season but has found consistency hard to maintain. Despite that, he remains one of the more dependable batting options for KKR.
Home Advantage: Lucknow Super Giants will benefit from playing at their home ground, the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, which typically offers a balanced surface for both batters and bowlers.
Recent Form: In their last five meetings, LSG hold a slight edge with three wins, while Kolkata Knight Riders have won two.
Team Balance: Both sides have struggled to find the right balance this season. However, LSG appear slightly more settled compared to KKR.
Prediction: Taking these factors into account, LSG are likely to have a narrow advantage and could return to winning ways in this contest.
