IPL 2026, Match 11 : Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Chennai Super Kings Match Preview

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on the Chennai Super Kings, in a fresh episode of the storied rivalry, in Match 11 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 5.
The defending champions are playing their second home game on the bounce, comfortably beating the Sunrisers Hyderabad by six wickets in the first game. Debutant Jacob Duffy picked up 3/22 as the Royal Challengers restricted the Sunrisers to 201/9 before chasing it down comfortably with more than four overs to spare. They will be looking to extend the momentum from their opening game, as they look to successfully defend their crown.
The Chennai Super Kings head to Bengaluru, a hostile hunting ground, on the back of losses in their first two games. They were beaten comprehensively by the Rajasthan Royals, who bowled them out for 127 in Guwahati, before chasing it down comfortably. This was followed by a home loss against the Punjab Kings, where they failed to defend 210.
The two sides have one of the most historic rivalries in the IPL, meeting on multiple occasions and under different circumstances. This clash means a lot when it comes to bragging rights. RCB's momentum would get a massive boost winning this game, and there would be no better way for CSK to open their account than with an away win against their arch rivals.
The pitch at M Chinnaswamy Stadium played true to its traditional nature in the first game on March 28. Traditionally a black-soil wicket, the pitch plays consistently through the entire game. The wicket offers early help for the seamers and has historically been conducive to hit-the-deck bowling. Dew is to play a part in the later stages of the innings, but with the IPL taking measures to reduce the impact of dew, bowlers will get assistance in the second half as well.
