IPL 2026, Match 14: Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Titans Match Preview

The Delhi Capitals (DC) take on the Gujarat Titans (GT) in match No. 14 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday, April 8.
Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals have had a dream start in IPL 2026, having won both their matches so far. They started with a six-wicket win against the Lucknow Super Giants away from home before defeating the Mumbai Indians by six wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
On the other hand, the Gujarat Titans have not hit their straps as yet. They lost to the Punjab Kings by three wickets in Mullanpur before going down to the Rajasthan Royals at home by six runs. The Titans are languishing at No. 9 on the points table.
The Capitals have a very balanced side, and that's why they are looking great despite KL Rahul and Nitish Rana not firing in the first two matches. The bowling department also has a lot of variety, giving no respite to the opposition batters.
On the other hand, the Gujarat Titans seem to have lost the Midas touch they had during their first two seasons in the IPL, where they would emerge victorious in tight situations. Both games they lost went down to the wire. However, the result didn't go their way. The 2022 champions will be desperately hoping for their captain, Shubman Gill, to return to the side after missing the last game due to a muscle spasm.
The Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi has provided some excellent batting surfaces in recent seasons. The short boundaries also make it difficult for the bowlers to stop the flow of runs. However, in the first game at the venue in IPL 2026, the ball did stop on the batters as the Mumbai Indians only managed 162/6 in the first innings. The Capitals reached the target in 18.1 overs, with six wickets to spare. However, that was an afternoon fixture. Under the lights, the ball should come on to the bat better.
