A crucial clash is on the horizon as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) gear up to face each other in Match No. 21 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on April 13.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have had a slightly inconsistent start to their campaign this season. While they have shown glimpses of their explosive batting potential, the team has struggled to maintain momentum across matches. In their first four matches, they have just won one match while losing the other three. So, this becomes an important clash for them and their chances of staying alive in the competition.
Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, have looked like a competitive and well-rounded side in IPL 2026. With strong contributions from both their top-order batters and all-rounders, RR have managed to stay undefeated in their first four matches. Coming into this game, the Royals will be aiming to put together a clinical performance and strengthen their position on the points table.
The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, is going to host it's second game of the season with this encounter. The first encounter of IPL 2026 here between SRH and LSG was a low-scoring affair. Historically, the pitch here at the venue is known to be a batting wicket. With both teams boasting of world class hitters, this promises to be a high-scoring affair.
Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan (capt & wk), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen, Aniket Verma, Salil Arora, Harsh Dubey, Shivang Kumar, Eshan Malinga, Harshal Patel
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel (wk), Riyan Parag (capt), Shimron Hetmyer, Donovan Ferreira, Ravindra Jadeja, Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, Ravi Bishnoi, Brijesh Sharma
The 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has taken the IPL 2026 by storm as of now. The RR opener has been in sensational form, scoring 200 runs in just four innings, at a strike rate of 266. He is the current holder of the Orange cap and that shows what kind of a season he is having. On a good Hyderabad wicket, Sooryavanshi will easily be the batter to watch out for.
At the second position in the Purple Cap list, for taking the second most wickets in IPL 2026 so far, Ravi Bishnoi will be the bowler to watch out for in this contest. The leg-spinner has found his rhythm and has been sensational for his side so far, picking up nine wickets in just four innings. Against a top-order heavy SRH side, Bishnoi will be RR’s best weapon.
