IPL 2026, Match 23: Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Lucknow Super Giants Match Preview
Published - 14 Apr 2026, 10:02 IST | Updated - 14 Apr 2026, 10:44 IST
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match No. 23 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on April 15 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
RCB currently sit third on the points table, having secured three wins from four matches. Despite a loss to Rajasthan Royals, they have registered impressive victories against Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Mumbai Indians. They will aim to capitalise on home advantage and add two more points to their tally.
Meanwhile, LSG have had a mixed start to their campaign, with two wins and two losses in four matches. They suffered defeats against Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans, but managed to secure wins over SRH and Kolkata Knight Riders. They will be eager to bounce back and build momentum moving forward.
The pitch at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is traditionally known to favour batters. The ball comes nicely onto the bat, allowing stroke-makers to play freely right from the first delivery. With relatively short boundaries, the venue further enhances scoring opportunities, making it a high-scoring ground. For bowlers, however, it can be a challenging task. Defending totals here is difficult, and they must rely heavily on disciplined line and length, along with smart variations, to contain the flow of runs.
