The Gujarat Titans (GT) make their long-awaited return to the Narendra Modi Stadium when they take on a winless Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match 25 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday, April 17.
The 2022 champions have found their feet in the tournament after suffering two defeats for as many games to start the new season. Shubman Gill’s side are now on a two-match winning streak, with their most recent victory coming against the Lucknow Super Giants in Uttar Pradesh. GT chased down 165 with eight balls to spare after Gill and Jos Buttler scored 56 and 60, respectively. Prasidh Krishna was, however, declared the Player of the Match with figures of 4 for 28.
KKR, on the other hand, have gone five matches without a win this season and are at the bottom of the points table. The three-time champions’ most recent loss came against the Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk, where they fell 32 runs short of the total. Ajinkya Rahane’s side’s only point this season came thanks to a rain-washed game against the Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens.
The pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium is the one where captains who win the toss generally decide to bat first. Last season, teams batting first won seven of the nine matches played in Ahmedabad. In the only match played here this season, Rajasthan Royals also batted first and won the game by six runs.
