IPL 2026: Match 42, GT vs RCB Match Prediction – Who will win today’s IPL match between Gujarat Titans vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru?

Gujarat Titans (GT) will be up against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a reverse fixture of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 in Match No. 42 of the tournament at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday, April 30.
Gujarat Titans have had a mediocre start to their season. In eight matches played, the Shubman Gill-led side has won four and lost as many matches and is currently placed fifth on the IPL 2026 points table. With eight points to their tally, even a win cannot help them climb up the ladder with a win against RCB since they have a negative net run-rate (NRR) of -0.475.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru, on the other hand, have looked an extremely dominant side and are playing like true defending champions. Like GT, RCB have also played eight games but emerged victorious on six occasions, with 12 points to their name thus far. A win on Thursday will certainly take them to the top spot on the leaderboard, and the Rajat Patidar-led side would not mind that at all.
The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is known to boast a balanced wicket and has offered equal assistance to both facets of the competition. The venue has hosted three encounters this season thus far, and a couple of them have gone in favour of the teams defending the total. The trend is likely to continue during the GT vs RCB clash as well, and anything ranging above 220-230 can be considered a winning total, going by previous match results this season.
Shubman Gill (captain), Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler (wicketkeeper), Shahrukh Khan, Washington Sundar, Jason Holder, Rashid Khan, Prasidh Krishna, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, Manav Suthar
Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar (captain), Jitesh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Suyash Sharma, Rasikh Salam Dar
Virat Kohli, RCB's top run-getter in IPL 2026 with 351 runs from 8 innings at an impressive average of 58.50 and strike rate of 162.50 (including three fifties and best of 81), is ideally placed to dominate on Thursday in Ahmedabad. The star batter boasts an exceptional average in excess of 85 against GT, which shows that they are among his favourite oppositions in the IPL. Kohli will look to get hold of the Orange Cap and needs 49 runs to equal Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who is the current highest with 400 runs.
Kagiso Rabada has often been the bowler who has caused troubles to Virat Kohli, which makes their matchup in the upcoming fixture a mouthwatering one. Rabada has the knack of picking crucial wickets and can bowl during any stage of the game to bring his team into a position of advantage. With years of experience and skills to his side, the South African pacer is expected to fire with the ball in his four overs on Thursday.
