IPL 2026, Match 43: Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capitals Match Preview
Published - 30 Apr 2026, 11:00 IST | Updated - 30 Apr 2026, 11:32 IST
Rajasthan Royals (RR) square off against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Friday, May 1.
The Royals have played nine matches so far and have six wins and three defeats to show for their efforts. They are currently placed at No. 4 on the points table. The Riyan Parag-led side will be high on confidence after chasing down a 223-run target and ending the undefeated streak of the Punjab Kings in their last game.
One of the major concerns for them, however, will be the dismal form of their captain, Riyan Parag. He did play a key cameo in the last game, and RR fans would hope that it would work as a shot in the arm for him. The middle-order also fired in the last game, which is a great sign for them heading into the business end of the cash-rich league.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals are in a spot of both, having managed just three wins and lost five games so far. They are stranded at No. 7 in the standings. Axar Patel and Co. are on a three-match losing streak.
The Capitals would want to bounce back strongly after suffering a humiliating defeat in their last game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the hosts were bowled out for 75 before Bengaluru chased the paltry target in just 6.3 overs. A defeat on Friday would significantly reduce Delhi's chances of progressing to the playoffs.
The Sawai Mansingh Stadium has been known for producing some balanced surfaces. However, the first match held at this venue in IPL 2026 saw the Sunrisers Hyderabad chasing down a 229-run target with five wickets and nine balls to spare. If a similar wicket greets the two teams on Friday, bowlers will have to be excellent with their execution as the room for error will be negligible.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Riyan Parag (C), Dasun Shanaka, Donovan Ferreira, Ravindra Jadeja, Jofra Archer, Brijesh Sharma, Nandre Burger, Yash Raj Punia.
Abishek Porel (WK), KL Rahul, Nitish Rana, Sameer Rizvi, Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel (C), David Miller, Vipraj Nigam, Kyle Jamieson, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar.
