IPL 2026: Match 44, CSK vs MI Match Prediction – Who will win today’s IPL match between Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians?

Mumbai Indians (MI) will be taking the field at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday, May 02, with the intention of completing their revenge against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match No. 44 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.
Chennai Super Kings have not scored anything even close to how they are known to dominate in IPL season after season. This year, they have won only three out of the first eight games that they have played thus far, and coming back to winning form will require Ruturaj Gaikwad's unit to pack a punch in all the remaining league stage fixtures.
Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, have been even worse. They are placed ninth on the points table at the moment and have endured four losses in the five games preceding the upcoming clash against CSK. This streak includes losing by 103 runs in a reverse fixture at the Wankhede Stadium. Hardik Pandya's men will have to show some mettle, as the hope is not all lost to qualify for the playoffs.
Of late, the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai is offering pitches that extract a relatively bouncier surface. Run-scoring might still be a difficult task at the venue, but the way bowlers have been at the mercy of batters in the current IPL season, a high-scoring thriller is expected to be on the cards for the upcoming contest. Chasing teams have had an upper hand in this year's IPL among the five matches played at the venue.
Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Ruturaj Gaikwad (captain), Dewald Brevis, Shivam Dube, Kartik Sharma, Jamie Overton, Akeal Hosein, Noor Ahmad, Anshul Kamboj, Gurjapneet Singh, Mukesh Choudhary
Will Jacks, Ryan Rickelton (wicketkeeper), Naman Dhir, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (captain), Shardul Thakur, Trent Boult, Ashwani Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, AM Ghazanfar
Ryan Rickelton has shown terrific form in the ongoing season. He has struck two swashbuckling centuries in IPL 2026 already, with his latest coming in the previous outing against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he scored 123 not out off a mere 55-ball stay at the crease and helped MI post a daunting total on the board in the first innings. The wicketkeeper-batter will be banking on his skills as an opener to come good at the Chepauk wicket as well.
Fast bowler Anshul Kamboj has been the best bowler for CSK this year by some distance. He has been picking wickets on a consistent basis and has also shown the ability to contain the flow of runs from his end. The right-arm pacer from Haryana can turn out to be a lethal bowling option against the Mumbai-based side, where a lot will depend on how he fares in his four-over spell.
