IPL 2026, Match 46: Gujarat Titans vs Punjab Kings Match Preview

Gujarat Titans (GT) will take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 46 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on May 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
GT are currently placed fifth on the points table, with five wins from nine matches. They have regained momentum with two consecutive victories and will head into this reverse fixture with confidence. Having faced PBKS earlier in the season, GT will be eager to settle scores and continue their upward climb in the standings.
On the other hand, PBKS have been the most consistent side this season and sit comfortably at the top of the table with six wins from eight matches. They have suffered just one defeat so far, showcasing strong performances across departments. However, coming off a recent loss, PBKS will be determined to bounce back quickly, secure their seventh win, and maintain their position at the summit.
The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is generally considered a batting-friendly venue, offering a well-balanced surface for both batters and bowlers. The pitch typically provides consistent bounce, allowing the ball to come onto the bat nicely. That said, bowlers are not entirely out of the contest. Fast bowlers can extract some lateral movement, particularly with the new ball, while also benefiting from hit-the-deck lengths due to the surface’s firmness. As the game progresses, spinners may find a bit of grip and turn.
