IPL 2026: Match 47, MI vs LSG Match Prediction – Who will win today’s IPL match between Mumbai Indians vs Lucknow Super Giants?

The action in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 will be between the bottom two teams when Mumbai Indians (MI) take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match No. 47 of the tournament at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday, May 04.
Mumbai Indians recently lost to Chennai Super Kings at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, which has nearly ended their hopes for playoff qualification. However, their move into the top four at the end of the league stage isn't impossible, with them requiring winning all of their remaining games to remain in the hunt. The first hurdle in that challenge will be at the Wankhede on Monday, where they will look to impress at home.
Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, are playing a game after a week-long gap. However, they have lost all of the five games preceding the upcoming one, and their story hasn't been much different from Mumbai ahead of the upcoming clash. LSG can still qualify for the playoffs, but they will have to bring out their best for the remainder of the season to do so.
In the last few years, the pitch at the Wankhede Stadium has offered a lot of batting-friendly tracks. Scoring runs can be a relatively easier task, especially in the first innings. However, the pitch stays balanced even as the game progresses. Pacers get enough bounce and carry, while spinners get the needed assistance with turn. As a result, the game on Monday between MI and LSG will be a mouthwatering one at Wankhede.
Will Jacks, Ryan Rickelton (wicketkeeper), Suryakumar Yadav, Naman Dhir, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (captain), Robin Minz, Krish Bhagat, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, AM Ghazanfar
Mitchell Marsh, Ayush Badoni, Rishabh Pant (captain & wicketkeeper), Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Mukul Choudhary, Himmat Singh, George Linde, Digvesh Singh Rathi, Mohsin Khan, Mohammed Shami
With dominant stroke play, opener Ryan Rickelton has undoubtedly been the most lethal weapon in MI's batting unit. After a terrific century against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rickelton followed it up with a 37 against Chennai Super Kings. The South African cricketer will look to continue his form and make valuable contributions at the top of the order for MI, as the five-time champions rely heavily on his form with the tournament nearing its business end.
Mohammed Shami enjoys bowling at the Wankhede Stadium, and anyone who remembers his spell against New Zealand in the semi-final of the ODI World Cup 2023 at this venue can vouch for that. Additionally, Shami has been in some good form with the ball in his hands and has been taking wickets consistently for the Super Giants. MI batters will have to be cautious with Shami's swing and pace, especially during the powerplay overs.
