IPL 2026, Match 47: Mumbai Indians vs Lucknow Super Giants Match Preview
Published - 03 May 2026, 14:35 IST | Updated - 03 May 2026, 15:04 IST
Both the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are desperately looking for a win on Monday, May 4, at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. They are languishing at No. 9 and 10 on the points table, respectively.
In nine matches played so far by the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026, they have managed to win only two. They are coming into this clash on the back of a three-match losing streak. Meanwhile, Lucknow have played one game fewer but registered the same number of points as Mumbai. They have lost their last five matches.
In their most recent encounter, Mumbai faced a comprehensive defeat to the Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets. Meanwhile, Lucknow lost to the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Super Over.
The Wankhede Stadium has always been a phenomenal ground for free-flowing batters who like to take the game on from the get-go. The boundaries are not too big, and the chasing teams have made good use of that. On Monday, the captain who wins the toss would want to bowl first to gauge the kind of surface and target they have to contend with. Any score below 220 and the chasing team will fancy themselves to pull it off.
