Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lock horns with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in match No. 53 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The Men in Yellow are placed at No. 6 on the points table with five wins and as many defeats from 10 matches. They are well and truly in contention to reach the playoffs despite starting the season with three consecutive losses. In their last two matches, they have registered comprehensive wins against the Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Capitals.
Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, have only a mathematical possibility of reaching the playoffs. They are languishing at the bottom of the table with just three wins and seven defeats from 10 games. Rishabh Pant and Co. ended their six-match losing streak earlier this week when they defeated the Royal Challengers Bengaluru by nine runs in a rain-curtailed encounter.
The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai has hosted five games in IPL 2026. The average first-innings total has been 186. Three out of these five matches have been won by chasing teams. However, in the afternoon game, the captain who wins the toss might want to bat first.
