IPL 2026: Match 69, MI vs RR Match Prediction – Who will win today’s IPL match between Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals?

The Mumbai Indians (MI) will want to finish their disappointing season on a high when they take on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, May 24, in Match 69 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL).
MI’s dismal campaign means that the five-time champions cannot finish any higher than ninth in the points table. Hardik Pandya’s side come into the game on the back of a four-wicket defeat at the hands of the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Meanwhile, qualification for the playoffs is still in RR’s hands, and they do not need to rely on any other teams to give them a favour. The 2008 champions know that a win against MI will see them finish fourth in the standings.
The two sides have already played once earlier this season, with the Royals winning by 27 runs in a rain-affected game in Guwahati.
The Wankhede pitch is renowned across the country as one of the best batting wickets. However, the bowlers are never out of the contest despite batters dominating for the most part. Early swing is possible for fast bowlers, thanks to the stadium being a stone's throw away from the Arabian Sea.
Across the 2026 IPL, the average first innings score at the Wankhede Stadium has been 222, with the Sunrisers Hyderabad even chasing down 244.
Ryan Rickelton (WK), Rohit Sharma, Naman Dhir, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (C), Will Jacks, Corbin Bosch, Deepak Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, Raghu Sharma
Yashasvi Jaiswal (C), Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Donovan Ferreira, Shubham Dubey, Ravindra Jadeja, Dasun Shanaka, Jofra Archer, Sandeep Sharma, Brijesh Sharma, Yash Raj Punja
It is hard to look beyond Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for the batter to watch out for during RR’s away game against the five-time champions. The left-handed batter has left everybody in awe of his batting, having scored 579 runs at an extraordinary strike-rate of 236.32, whilst averaging just shy of 45. The 15-year-old famously hit Jasprit Bumrah for a six off the first ball he faced back in April.
Amongst all the worries MI have faced with their bowling this season, Corbin Bosch has taken over the mantle of his side’s main bowler. The South African international has taken eight wickets from his last three matches, including a four-wicket haul against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
