IPL 2026, Match 69: Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals Match Preview

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) travel to the state of Maharashtra to take on the Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 69 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday, May 24, at the Wankhede Stadium.
MI have nothing to play for apart from pride following yet another disappointing campaign. The five-time champions have picked up a mere four wins from 13 matches this season to find themselves in ninth spot in the standings.
RR, however, are still in the hunt to secure a playoff berth. The Jaipur-based franchise know that a win against MI guarantees a place in the top four, where they would go on to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator.
The game on Sunday afternoon will be the second meeting between MI and RR during this year’s IPL. The Royals secured a 27-run win over Hardik Pandya’s side in Guwahati, Assam, during the early stages of the tournament.
Renowned for being a batter-friendly pitch, the Wankhede Stadium offers a host of runs to each side, regardless of whether they are bowling or batting first. Team batting second, however, can expect to chase a total well above 200.
It also helps when the boundaries are not the biggest, allowing the ball to travel a long distance. Bowlers, on the other hand, can get some assistance in the early part of the innings with the new ball.
Ryan Rickelton (WK), Rohit Sharma, Naman Dhir, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (C), Will Jacks, Corbin Bosch, Deepak Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, Raghu Sharma
Yashasvi Jaiswal (C), Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Donovan Ferreira, Shubham Dubey, Ravindra Jadeja, Dasun Shanaka, Jofra Archer, Sandeep Sharma, Brijesh Sharma, Yash Raj Punja
