IPL 2026 may see Royal Challengers Bengaluru with change in ownership

After widespread speculations and reports, it can finally be confirmed that Royal Challengers Bengaluru has been put up on sale. As per a report, Diageo, the owner of RCB's Indian Premier League and Women's Premier League teams, has got underway with the process. It is also understood that the sale of the franchise rights and agreements will be completed by March 31, 2026
RCB are coming off a maiden title win in the 2025 season. They had a stellar campaign in the 18th season of the marquee T20 competition under the freshly-instated captaincy of Rajat Patidar. Two of the three retained players from the mega auction, Virat Kohli (657 runs in 15 innings) and Josh Hazlewood (22 wickets in 12 innings) were the standout performers for the franchise.
