IPL 2026: MI vs LSG, Match 47: Stats preview of players' records and approaching milestones

The Mumbai Indians (MI) will return to action in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 as they face the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 47 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on Monday, May 4.
MI are currently enduring a tough campaign, having lost seven of their nine matches so far. The Hardik Pandya-led side has struggled to find rhythm, particularly in closing out key moments in games. Despite boasting a power-packed batting lineup, inconsistency with both bat and ball has hurt their chances. They are coming into this clash on the back of a defeat against the Chennai Super Kings and will be eager to bounce back in front of their home crowd.
On the other hand, LSG find themselves in an equally difficult position. Led by Rishabh Pant, the side has lost six out of eight matches and is currently on a worrying five-match losing streak. The team has struggled to click as a unit, with both their batting and bowling departments failing to deliver under pressure. With playoff hopes hanging by a thread, LSG will be desperate to arrest their slide and get their campaign back on track.
With both teams low on confidence and fighting to stay relevant in the points table, this contest could come down to which side handles pressure better.
