IPL 2026: MI vs LSG, Match 47 - Top player battles to watch out for
Published - 03 May 2026, 16:28 IST | Updated - 03 May 2026, 16:29 IST
Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants are set to face each other in match No. 47 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday, May 4.
This is a clash between two teams that came into the tournament with high hopes, but things haven't gone their way so far. The Mumbai Indians have lost seven out of the nine matches they have played. Meanwhile, Lucknow have six defeats, having played one game fewer.
The team that loses on Monday could find itself at the bottom of the table at the end of the season. However, the winning team will keep their playoff hopes hanging by a thread. Lucknow are coming into this clash on the back of a much-needed break, having lost their last five matches. Mumbai, on the other hand, lost to the Chennai Super Kings on Saturday and will have to regroup quickly.
Naman Dhir's performances with the bat have been one of the rare silver linings for Mumbai this season. The right-handed batter has scored 233 runs in nine innings at an average of 29.13 and a strike rate of 147.17. He scored a gritty half-century in the last game against Chennai and would be high on confidence.
Mohsin Khan, on the other hand, seems to have returned to his best. In the last game against Kolkata Knight Riders, the left-arm seamer finished with figures of 5/23, his best in the shortest format. Mohsin will look to swing the new ball and cause problems for the Mumbai top-order.
