IPL 2026: MI vs RCB, Match 20 - Top player battles to watch out for

Two of the best sides go head-to-head when the Mumbai Indians (MI) take on defending champions the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Match 20 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday, April 12, at the Wankhede Stadium.
After winning their opening game against the Kolkata Knight Riders on home soil, the five-time champions have suffered back-to-back losses against the Delhi Capitals and the Rajasthan Royals. MI are currently eighth in the standings with two points to their name.
RCB, meanwhile, made an excellent start to their title defence, with two wins from two games. Rajat Patidar’s side, however, hit a small roadblock in Guwahati, where RR handed them their first loss of the season. The Bengaluru outfit are still third in the table.
Both sides have a plethora of superstar players in their ranks, which promises some box office player battles to watch out for. The hard-hitting RCB batting lineup will have its work cut out against the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya.
MI batters, on the other hand, will face a returning Josh Hazlewood, along with the evergreen Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and their former player Krunal Pandya.
Two brothers rarely get to face one another in the IPL, but MI vs RCB will offer this unique match-up when Hardik Pandya faces his brother Krunal on Sunday. This sibling rivalry could be reestablished in the middle overs during the game.
The brothers from Baroda have faced each other in five innings in the IPL, with Hardik scoring 29 runs at a strike-rate of just 93.54. Krunal, on the other hand, has picked up the wicket of his younger brother just once.
