The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured an emphatic victory at the Wankhede Stadium, beating hosts Mumbai Indians (MI) by six wickets in Match 41 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday, April 29. The win now takes Pat Cummins' side to 12 points, having won their last matches.
MI captain Hardik Pandya decided to bat first, with the batters making the most of the conditions at hand. Ryan Rickelton was the star of the show, scoring 123 not out in the first innings to take the hosts to a respectable 243 from their 20 overs. He was partnered well by Will Jacks and Hardik Pandya.
SRH, however, chased down the total with relative ease, thanks to the start provided to them by openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, who scored 92 runs in the powerplay. Heinrich Klaasen helped them with the finishing touch, scoring 65 off just 30 balls and remaining not out. It was, however, Salil Arora who made sure SRH aren’t in any trouble, hitting a 10-ball 30, including two sixes in the 19th over bowled by Hardik.
Coming back into the side, Ryan Rickelton made the most of the chance in front of him to score an unbeaten 123 off just 55 balls to bat for the entirety of 20 overs. The South African international is now MI’s highest individual run-scorer in an innings. He surpassed the record previously held by Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya, who scored 114 back in 2008.
