IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals dugout row erupts as support staff allegedly spotted using mobile phone

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been in exceptional form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, winning four matches in a row to climb to the top of the points table. Their success has largely been driven by a strong and consistent top order featuring Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, and Dhruv Jurel, whose contributions with the bat have been instrumental in the team’s dominant run.
However, RR recently found themselves in the spotlight for an unusual off-field incident. A short video clip circulating on social media appeared to show a mobile phone inside the team’s dugout during a match, despite strict league rules prohibiting the use of such devices during live games. As per standard protocol, players and support staff are required to deposit their phones before the start of play to maintain professionalism and prevent any potential breaches.
In the viral clip, an RR support staff member was allegedly seen using a mobile phone during their clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The incident quickly caught the attention of fans, raising questions about adherence to league guidelines.

While some fan groups speculated about possible implications, including match-fixing concerns, it is important to note that the video remains unverified. Neither the franchise nor the IPL authorities have released an official statement regarding the matter, and there is no confirmed evidence about the nature of the device seen in the footage.
On the field, RR continued their impressive run with a commanding six-wicket victory over RCB in Guwahati. Batting first, RCB posted a competitive total of 201/8, led by captain Rajat Patidar, who scored a brilliant 63 off 40 balls.
In response, RR got off to a brisk start despite losing Jaiswal early. The highlight of the chase was a sensational innings from Sooryavanshi, who smashed 78 off just 26 deliveries, dismantling the opposition attack. Although a brief middle-order wobble followed his dismissal, Jurel anchored the innings with a composed unbeaten 81 off 43 balls, guiding RR to victory in just 18 overs.
