Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) registered a comfortable win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match No. 11 of the Indian Premier League 2026 on Sunday, April 5 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
After being put into bat, RCB posted a massive total of 250/3 in their 20 overs. Virat Kohli gave the innings a brisk start but couldn’t convert it into a big score, falling for 28. Phil Salt and Devdutt Padikkal then stitched a solid 56-run stand for the second wicket, with Salt scoring 46 and Padikkal contributing a fluent 50 off 29 balls, including five fours and two sixes.
Padikkal continued his impressive form by adding another 58 runs alongside skipper Rajat Patidar for the third wicket. The real fireworks, however, came in the death overs as Patidar and Tim David unleashed a brutal assault, putting together a 99-run partnership in just 35 balls. Patidar remained unbeaten on 48, while David smashed an explosive 70* off 25 deliveries, hitting eight sixes and three fours at a staggering strike rate of 280.
In response, CSK never quite found momentum in their chase of 251. Despite a fighting half-century from Sarfaraz Khan, who scored 50 off 25 balls, the visitors kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually restricted to 207, handing RCB a convincing 43-run victory.
RCB’s bowling unit delivered a disciplined performance, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar leading the attack with figures of 3/41. Jacob Duffy picked up 2/58, while Krunal Pandya chipped in with 2/36. A late 57-run partnership between Prashanth Veer and Jamie Overton showed some resistance, but it wasn’t enough to take CSK over the line.
