Delhi Capitals produced a clinical all-round performance to secure a six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 26 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on April 18.
Asked to bat first, RCB posted a competitive total of 175/8 in their 20 overs, largely powered by a fluent knock from Philip Salt. The opener continued his impressive run of form with a well-compiled 63 off 38 balls, setting the tone at the top. He found brief support from Tim David (26 off 17), while contributions from the middle order helped RCB reach a respectable total despite losing wickets at regular intervals.
For DC, the bowling effort was well-rounded, with Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel picking up two wickets each, while Lungi Ngidi chipped in with a couple as well to keep the scoring in check.
In response, DC chased down the target with composure, finishing at 179/4 in 19.5 overs. KL Rahul anchored the innings with a solid 57 off 34 balls, while Tristan Stubbs played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 60 off 47 balls. David Miller provided the finishing touches with a quickfire 22 off 10 balls, ensuring DC crossed the line despite the nervy middle overs.
The English opener Phil Salt once again proved his value at the top of the order for RCB, playing an aggressive innings. His 63 off 38 balls included crisp boundaries and well-timed strokes, helping RCB get off to a strong start and maintain momentum through the middle overs. He has been one of the mainstays of RCB's batting line-up this year.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar turned the game early with a brilliant spell upfront. He removed key batters including Pathum Nissanka, Karun Nair, and Sameer Rizvi, finishing with figures of 3/26 and putting DC under early pressure. It was one of the finest opening spells by the experienced Indian pacer that nearly put RCB in front, defending a modest total.

After a slight wobble in the middle overs, Stubbs and Miller ensured there were no late hiccups. The duo stitched together a crucial unbeaten partnership, with Stubbs anchoring and Miller accelerating, guiding DC to a composed victory in the final over. After a heartbreaking finish against Gujarat Titans earlier this season, David Miller finally took his team over line and redeemed himself.
