The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on the Gujarat Titans (GT) in Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Tuesday, May 26, at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala.
The defending champions finished the season at the top of the table, with 18 points from 14 games. Throughout the season, they have looked like the team to beat and have extended their dominance from their title run in 2025. The Titans finished in second place and just missed out on the top spot by net run rate, also finishing with 18 points. They have seen a solid resurgence after a slow start and ended the league stage as one of the more dominant teams in the tournament.
The two teams met twice this season in the league stage, just six days apart, with both teams winning one clash apiece. The first clash on April 24 saw the Titans get to 205/3 in their 20 overs, with Sai Sudharsan scoring a magnificent century at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The defending champions made light work of the chase despite losing wickets in the later end, romping home with five wickets in hand. Virat Kohli scored a brilliant 81 off 44 balls, anchoring the chase in a clinical knock.
The return fixture of April 30 at the Narendra Modi Stadium saw the Titans get even. Bowling first, Rajat Patidar's men were bowled out for 155, with Arshad Khan picking up three wickets and Jason Holder picking two key breakthroughs in the middle overs. The Titans were set an early platform by skipper Shubman Gill, who scored a quickfire 43 off just 18 balls. RCB struck back with regular wickets, but it could not stop GT from reaching home with four wickets in hand.
