The Rajasthan Royals take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 36 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
The Royals finally broke a two-game losing streak with a strong 40-run victory over the Lucknow Super Giants as they successfully defended a total of 160. They have had one of the most fearsome bowling attacks in the tournament, which stepped up in Lucknow. They will be expecting runs from their top order batters after their young trio of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel have seen a lean patch after starting the season in blistering fashion.
The Sunrisers come to this game on the back of a brilliant three-match winning streak. They beat the Delhi Capitals by 47 runs, with Abhishek Sharma’s blistering 135 taking the team in orange to 242/2 in their 20 overs. Their batters have found form with runs coming from both the top and middle order, while they have found balance with their bowling attack. They will also be bolstered by the return of Australian speedster and skipper Pat Cummins, who has recovered from a lumbar stress issue.
This is the first reverse fixture in the 2026 edition of the IPL. The two teams met in Hyderabad on April 13, where the Sunrisers emerged victorious. Being put into bat, they reached a sizeable total of 216 courtesy of a brilliant 91 from Ishan Kishan. The Royals were blown apart by debutant Praful Hinge, who picked up four wickets in the powerplay, leaving the Royals at 9/5. Debutant Sakib Hussain also finished with four wickets as the Royals were bundled out for 159.
This is also the first home game for the Royals in their home venue of Jaipur. They were victorious in their first three home games, which were played at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
