IPL 2026: Video of the Day: Deepak Chahar sends Virat Kohli packing for golden duck

It is an extremely rare sight to see Virat Kohli get out on the very first ball of his innings, but that did happen during Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) game against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur during Match 54 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL).
Chasing 167 in the second innings, Kohli was facing Deepak Chahar in the fourth ball of the first over. The right-arm seamer pitched the ball slightly outside off stump, which the former RCB captain tried to hit straight. He, however, did not time the ball well, and it looped in the air to mid off. Raj Bawa was stationed near that area and made a brilliant dive to grab the catch to send Kohli back to the pavilion.
It is worth mentioning that this was Kohli's second consecutive duck in this season's IPL. The 37-year-old was dismissed without troubling the scorers against the Lucknow Super Giants in their game at the Ekana International Stadium. However, that was not a golden duck with the batter being dismissed on his second delivery faced.
